Hero uses your phone's front facing camera to track your movements. We've noted some common questions and things to think about, as you start using us for the first time!
Give camera permission: Before you start for the first time, before the camera starts, a pop up will appear asking you to give the app permission to access your camera. Without this the assessment can't start! If you press the wrong button or want to review this in the future, simply go to your phone's settings and find the Hero app, where you can adjust controls there.
Portrait phone orientation: Position your phone in portrait orientation - not on its side in landscape mode!
Lock screen off: Make sure your screen lock is turned off before starting your assessment.
Watch your feet: Make sure there's some space between your feet and the bottom of the frame. You might naturally drift forward a bit when you do high knees so best to start with room so the camera can always see you properly.
Find your space: We recommend watching the Intro Video (accessible from the home screen) before you do an assessment, which has tips about the space that will be best. As a general rule though the app needs to be able to see you (and only you!) well, so find somewhere with good lighting, clear space around you and where people or pets won't walk into the camera's view!
